Established artist Angie Dennis has lived in Auckland, New
Zealand, since emigrating from the United Kingdom in 1998. Although
Dennis has been painting for years, she chose to pursue it as a
full-time vocation in 2002.
Before making New Zealand her home, Dennis completed a Masters
degree in Environmental Science in Reading, UK, which goes some way
to explaining her passion for preserving native
flora through her artwork - the focus of many of her
paintings. Dennis is particularly inspired by local New
Zealand plant life and has undertaken various studies of
pohutukawa, flax (harakeke) and nikau in her work.
Dennis' works are held in private collections, both here in New
Zealand and in such diverse destinations as London, Paris and
Sydney.
