Danny Landall is a Wellington based painter, working primarily
in oil, acrylic, and graphite. In 1997, Landall began painting and
exhibiting his work. In 2000 he completed a Bachelor of Arts
majoring in Art History at Wellington's Victoria University.
The layering of various drawings, text and paint is an essential
part of Landall's painting process; images are partially
revealed and partially obscured to encourage an
interaction between text and form. This approach produces a
sense of fleeting thoughts and fading messages, rather than a
literal explanation of the work, motifs that illustrate a practiced
stream of consciousness and serve to reinforce a particular
perspective on the world around us.
