Mark Huit lives and works in Brougham,
Cumbria, UK. He attended the Hornsey School of Fine Art, gaining a
Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours in 1983, before pursuing
postgraduate study at the Camberwell School of Fine Art, graduating
with a Postgraduate Diploma in Printmaking. Huit has been a
professional artist for 23 years, exhibiting at both national and
international venues.
While he works in many different mediums, Huit favours
screen-printing and oil paint, through which he is able to create
the astoundingly vibrant and colourful images that reflect his life
in the Lakes District and his many travels around the world. Huit's
studio lies within the walls of a thirteenth century castle that is
being painstakingly restored to its former glory. It is from here
that Huit produces his works as well as holding intensive
screen-printing courses and workshops.
