of
‘Party
Central’ this recently
refitted office on Auckland’s waterfront employs beautiful fabrics and
intriguing wall and ceiling coverings to create a vibrant, modern
workplace. The brief was to provide artworks from a range of New
Zealand artists that reflected the company’s passion for their work and
gave each individual space a character all of its own. Using artworks
from Anya Homs, Gerda
Leenards, James Ross and photographer Fleur Harland, and incorporating a timeless Leigh Christensen sculpture in the foyer, we were
able to achieve a sense of harmony to thrill both client and designer.

*** This is definitely one to pencil in
your calendar. Its coming up soon, involves a lot of national and
international people and is centred around the Viaduct Harbour in
Auckland. No, it's not the Rugby World Cup, it's the Auckland Art Fair, coming
to spice up our city in August. Sign up for updates here...

Sometimes,
relationships
end.
When
they
do,
every
song
sounds
like
it was meant
for you, your traditional Sunday morning pancakes taste like bitter
cardboard and you feel like no-one in the world realises how crushed,
splintered and trodden-upon your heart is. So how do you get over it?
If you are Croatian couple Olinka Vistica and Dazen Grubisic (sadly no
longer an item), you immortalise the mementos of your love in a museum
and open it to the public. The Museum of Broken Relationships
has been so successful that there is now a travelling exhibition and
plans to open a replica MOBR on every continent. Who would have
thought....

The
world of blogging is a fascinating place. At times weird and at times
wonderful, it’s always interesting to sit down with your morning coffee
and see how others see the world. Here’s a cute design blog - some of
you may know it - it’s called Design*Sponge...
